UNICEF RapidPro, the open-source communication platform enabling real-time engagement and data collection, has been nominated for a 2025 Webby Award in the Apps & Software – Software Services & Platforms, Developer Tools category. This recognition highlights the work behind RapidPro’s 10th-anniversary rebrand, a project aimed at modernizing its identity and strengthening its role in global communication and crisis response.

Used in over 116 countries, RapidPro powers essential communication for governments, NGOs, and humanitarian organizations. The platform has exchanged over 1 billion messages in a single year, helping organizations connect with marginalized communities for public health campaigns, emergency response, education tracking, and more.

L+R partnered with UNICEF to refresh RapidPro’s brand identity and develop a new website, ensuring its capabilities are clearly communicated to the organizations that rely on it. The rebrand enhances accessibility, refines messaging, and reinforces RapidPro’s ability to help organizations deliver vital information—especially in remote regions.

At L+R, our mission is to improve life with design and technology, and this project reflects that commitment. RapidPro is designed for mass communication, social & behavioral change, crisis support, and information dissemination—goals that align with our approach to creating solutions that have real impact. By integrating UX strategy, visual design, and digital development, the refreshed platform ensures partners can easily navigate its offerings and maximize its reach.

Recognized as a Digital Public Good, RapidPro is an essential tool for organizations working to make a difference at scale.

We’re honored to have contributed to RapidPro’s next chapter and its mission to connect the world’s most vulnerable communities with vital information.
