This week, the L+R Barcelona studio had the distinct pleasure of hosting 20 highly motivated and driven students from Umeå School of Business and Economics in Sweden as part of their Business Week 2023. Organized by HHUS, the student union of Umeå Business School, Business Week serves as an international business trip aimed at introducing students to influential companies across various industries and global markets.

The initiative is more than just a field trip; it's a meticulously planned event designed to offer a mutually beneficial exchange. Students, selected through a rigorous process involving CV screening, personal letters, and interviews, get the opportunity to meet potential employers. In return, companies like ours get to interact with some of the brightest young minds in business administration, economics, and related fields.

Umeå University is among Sweden's leading institutions and holds a strong international position. The students were keen to learn about our daily operations, the skills we value in our employees, and the career opportunities we offer. They were particularly interested in the academic backgrounds of our team members and our unique work practices. We were more than happy to provide insights into all these areas, including a guided tour of our offices and workshops related to our practices.

Hosting the Business Week not only gave us the chance to meet competent and goal-oriented students but also allowed us to achieve strong branding among the students at Umeå School of Business and Economics. The event aligns perfectly with our ongoing efforts to connect with the next generation of business leaders and thinkers.

The Business Week 2023 spanned from October 9th to 13th, with the first two days in Stockholm and the remaining time in Barcelona. Each company had the flexibility to structure and design the visits, making every interaction unique and enriching for the students.

We see initiatives like Business Week as invaluable opportunities for both students and companies. It's not just about recruitment; it's about opening doors, sharing experiences, and fostering relationships that could shape the industries of tomorrow.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Adam Segerlund, Albin Enquist, Erik Hietaniemi, Lisa Sånemyr, and Ludvig Nyman, the project group behind Business Week 2023, for making this possible. We look forward to future collaborations and wish all participating students the best in their academic and professional journeys.
