L+R is honored to announce the recognition for the Global Gamers Challenge, as a winner in the 4th Annual Anthem Awards, awarded in the category of Education or Literacy Platform: Sustainability, Environment & Climate. This prestigious award celebrates impactful projects driving positive social and environmental change, and we are proud to share this achievement with our partners Global Citizen and Google.
The Global Gamers Challenge was launched as an 8-week initiative encouraging Flutter developers to create games that promote environmental awareness and sustainability. Inspired by the United Nations’ Playing for the Planet Alliance, the challenge called on developers to design games that encourage actions like reducing home energy use, minimizing single-use plastics, and promoting public transportation.
As the strategic consultant and technical lead for this initiative, L+R facilitated the collaboration between Global Citizen and Google’s Flutter team, providing guidance and support for developers in the challenge.
Helping bring together Global Citizen and Flutter has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this project. The Global Gamers Challenge empowers developers to inspire sustainable actions through engaging, impactful game design.
