Following the keynote at Meta Connect 2025, L+R was officially announced as one of the early partners for the release of Meta's new AI Glasses Software Development Kit. This marks the first time Meta is opening up its wildly successful wearable devices to third-party developers for new use cases and applications. Our team was present as L+R was featured alongside a select group of industry leaders including Disney, Logitech, and Microsoft, signaling a significant step forward in developing meaningful, real-world applications for wearable technology as detailed in Meta's official announcement.

The announcement was a highlight of a landmark event that also saw the unveiling of the next generation of Meta's wearable hardware, including the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, new Oakley frames, and the groundbreaking Ray-Ban Meta Display. To be featured as a key software partner alongside these major product reveals underscores the critical role of the partner ecosystem in bringing this technology to life.

The new SDK, known as the Device Access Toolkit (DAT), provides developers with powerful tools to create more intuitive and personalized experiences. For L+R, this partnership is a direct extension of our core mission: to improve life with design and technology. This moment represents a crucial step in the evolution of spatial computing, moving from niche applications to mainstream use. As our founder, Alex Levin, recently explored on CustomerThink, smart glasses are set to quietly transform customer experience by seamlessly blending our digital and physical worlds.

Maybe the era of heads-down, screen-first technology is ending? For decades, we’ve been forced to look down at glowing rectangles, separating ourselves from the world to access information. We believe the next great leap in computing won't happen on a phone in your pocket; it will happen in plain sight, layering digital intelligence directly onto the world you see.

This is the true promise of spatial computing. And it's why L+R is proud to be one of the first partners for Meta's latest release.

Our early access and collaboration have already provided invaluable insights. It clear that this platform can bridge the gap between our physical and digital worlds. This experience has solidified our commitment to building on this platform and exploring its vast potential for our clients.

As we continue our work with the team at Meta, we invite others to join us in shaping this new frontier. Our team is proud to be in a position to turn ambitious ideas into a reality, and we offer multiple ways to get involved:

For enterprise clients and corporate organizations looking to understand how this technology can impact your business, our L+R ETAP (Emerging Technology Acceleration Program) provides a structured path from concept to implementation. Learn more and apply at ETAP.levinriegner.com.

For developers, designers, and entrepreneurs in the ecosystem, our Meridian Meetups are where the community connects to explore what's next. Join the conversation and find out about our next event by visiting followMeridian.com.
