First Round New York, a one-day showcase of original presentations provided to clients exhibiting first design explorations for logo, identity, and branding projects, was created by UnderConsideration in 2018. Members of the L+R design team are in attendance today to hear their peers discuss the strategy and research that accompanies the initial round of design explorations, giving them further insight into how different designers begin the design process.

The conference introduces a diverse collection of ideas, tactics, conversations around enhancing design-led presentation abilities to provide the highest quality experience and output for their clients and projects. The event itself emphasizes that design is a process and that few projects are fully developed in the first round.

Learning from others within the design community is both inspiring and empowering. I look forward to implementing what I have learned into our team's work in the future.

UnderConsideration has been publishing content online since 2002, beginning with the design blog Speak Up, which ran from 2002 to 2009 and was one of the most active, entertaining, and well-regarded blogs, earning a spot in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Triennial in 2006 — the only blog included in the exhibition.
